Denver Day

Saturday 5th April 2003

At Village Hall, Walton on the Hill, Staffordshire

Dear Friends - please come and join us for Denver Day. It is more than five years since John left us and we will be celebrating his life in the way we do best. We have a host of entertainers who give the day a special feeling. It is one that John would approve of. We sing round our campfire and everyone who wants to entertain us is welcome to do so. It would be wonderful if as many of you as possible could be there to share it with us. So it's guitars (and violins) at the ready to join in the fun. We have lots of budding poets out there too - everyone is welcome to make their contribution to a great day.

The doors will open at 10.00am and close at 7.00pm. The format will be laid back and informal. The day will kick off at 11.00am with a welcome address from the Committee and will continue with the performances from our talented musician members and friends, the raffle and the auction, not forgetting lunch! In between there will be time to relax and chat to a gentle background of JD music - to renew friendships and make new ones. We can arrange a meal in a local pub after the day for anyone who may be interested.

You will have the opportunity to sign our JD Memories book and to share your thoughts on John with us all if you so wish - it will be very much a 'Friends Around the Campfire' atmosphere. Of course, we will be ending the day by joining in our circle of friendship to sing The Wings That Fly Us Home.
