I have volunteered to arrange the Spring Denver Day at my local village hall as I think Irene deserves a break. Denver Days do not just ‘happen’, there is a great deal of planning and organising involved to ensure we all enjoy a memorable day.

Some of you will be familiar with the venue, Walton village hall, where we held our Spring Denver Day in 2003.

The format will be similar to past Denver Days.

During the afternoon, you are welcome to browse the project tables, photograph albums, raffle and John Denver related auction items.

We will be entertained by our talented friends, musicians and singer/songwriters. There will be time to relax and enjoy tea and cakes and chat to friends.

The day is scheduled to close at 5pm, as I need to prepare the hall for the evening and the performers need to do sound checks etc.

You may like to go for a meal at the local pub (10 minutes drive away) or if you are not hungry, there is a pleasant walk from the hall along the canal.

I have arranged a VERY SPECIAL CONCERT for you which will commence at 7.30pm. The concert will be a musical evening of original songs combined with tributes to the music of John Denver.

Our regular members will need no introduction to our good friend and extremely talented singer/songwriter, from Spain, Steve Brook. See www.stevebrook.com

Steve will be joined on stage by three SPECIAL GUESTS FROM HOLLAND, Rene Wingelaar, Arno Cornelissen and Klaas Christian Schukken. The guys are members of the band "Nickels and Dimes". See www.nickels-and-dimes.com

We were introduced to them in Aspen last October and Rene’s voice just blew me away.

The proceeds from the ticket sales will be passed on to the guys to help cover their travelling expenses and overnight accommodation. Please support Steve and his friends from Holland. Rene and his friends were due to do a couple of concerts in Holland on April 30th, as part of their Queen’s Birthday celebrations. They have cancelled the gigs so that they can come to the UK and entertain us.
